ALICE IN SMACK 2006 - I am doing this cover band out of my love for Alice in Chains and Layne Staley. We decided to mix in the music of Godsmack which does kick up the energy of the live show AND of course they were rumored to originally be an Alice in Chains tribute band. True or not it's
obvious AIC was a major influence on Godsmack from the sound, lyrics, artwork, and of course Godsmack is an Alice in Chains song on "Dirt" Here are some
soundbites we through together as a demo. Layne Staley was nothing short of amazing. I really enjoy the challange of singing his songs as close to sounding like him as I can get.

MISC STUFF - 2006

I've always played acoustic and sang here and there but never really was good enough to perform that way. I wrote 2 songs on acoustic guitar and decided I should really work on it to get better at playing and singing so that I could proficiently perform. I put some time in to learning a bunch of songs on acoustic and had a lot of fun
and now I feel as though I'm good enough to do it. Here are the 2 songs plus I recorded a few other cover songs just for fun.

November Rain (Guns n Roses) - The original is on piano but I tried it on acoustic guitar - such a great song with really true lyrics.

You Oughta Know - Alanis kicked ass on the original - we may re-release this as a cover - we'll see how the "music biz" gets handled - enjoy our version of this one (not the final mix as of 4/9/04, just check it out let me know what you think!) I always loved her feeling and her lyrics which to me are a play on "Till death do us part" - as she said, But you're still alive" - well me n Steve took this a little bit DARKER and changed some of the words.

Wont Forget This - I've uploaded this to hear it - I am doing the Rapping and Singing - God knows I can't rap - so they're supposed to bring in a Rap Star of some sort to re-record the rap stuff - some more music needs to be done.
